baskets, socks an marmelade

After practicing sewing round baskets in that quite horrible green fabric I did some in very nice linen with padded sides so they stand up all right. I really love the look although they are not really straight at the top sides - for me linen is quite hard to cut and sew.

By the way: they smell a bit like hay - very nice, too!

Some more summer socks in green and red:

And the marmalade I made the other day. Both kinds turned out really fine, although next time I will use 1:3 marmelade-sugar because the strawberries are very sweet themselves.

The recipe for "Marmelade Strawberry Red":

1 kg washed and cut strawberries
0,1 ml Cointreau
0,2 ml beet root juice (for the color, the smell will go while cooking)
juice of 1/2 lemon
bit of grated lemon-skin
1 vanilla pod (probably the wrong expression, but hopefully understandably..)
Marmelade-making sugar 1:2

The recipe for "Marmalade Strawberry Lemon":

1kg washed and cut strawberries
juice of 1/2 lemon
grated lemon skin of 1 lemon
2 vanilla pods
Marmelade-making sugar 1:2

Cook 3-5 Minutes.
