bee and bag

Tacha from Hanies invited me some weeks ago to join a european quilting-bee, the euro bee, where 12 quilters from England, Portugal, Denmark and Germany make a least one block for one of the group.

Each month one of us will send out her fabric to the other 11 and tell what kind of block we should do and how big it should be.

We started for September with Isa, Ningiu, from Copenhagen who sent out her fabric already and who wanted kind of log cabin blocks.

She chose the beautiful Lizzy Dish fabric for a picnic quilt.

So this morning i really wanted to go for it and sewed her block.

It turned out very symmetrical and kind of strict but the friendly fabrics will straighten that out i hope.

It was a lot of fun to make the block, it is such a great experience to do something another person will use for a quilt - kind of exciting and in a way connecting.

And then i made the custom order oilcloth tote, this time red and white polka dot oilcloth combined with Heather Baileys "Pop Garden Paisley", a fabric i dearly love for it´s colors and brightness.

The tote turned out great!
