this is how i feel (having a head cold) and this is what i made the last days.
so welcome to the little shop of horror - i am feeling kind of brave sharing these things with you, and no, i am not fishing for compliments here. i just think while we usally present just the pretty stuff there should be room for the not-so-good pieces, too.
so lets start with the top one: the too-busy-hexagon-piece.
well, it´s obviously too busy, the triangles were very small and a pain to sew together, it took me ages and i have no idea what to do with this. what a nice waste of material.
and what about this evil little thing: the hurts-your-eyes-circle-block
i was playing around with my circle ruler, which helps making good circle blocks. But i does not help with picking appropriate fabrics. obviously.
then the above eyesore was followed by this one: the makes-you-feel-seasick-circle-block.
when, oh when will i stop using little dots for stuff like this?? it is just a waste because it does not look good. never.
so remember: circles from dotty fabric just as applique or use them in rectangular forms. everything else: not so good.
and finally, not eye-hurting but so unbelievably boring that i want to bury it somewhere and never touch it again: the most-boring-topper ever
i really thought this was a nice idea but i look at it and really don´t feel anything good there. right now i am hesitating to even put a binding on it because i am not sure what to do with this little bugger, too.
quite a collection, isn´t it?!
well, that was kind of cathartic.
Maybe i should host some event or open up a flickr group called
"Your most dreaded little project - when quilting goes awfully wrong.."
what do you think? got some babies like these, too?? please do share, it hopefully makes us all feel better.
