raspberry lemon quilt top (oh well..)

I don´t want to whine too much but i expected something different..

this is supposed to be a kaleidoscope quilt - but it is not. there´s not enough contrast at the crucial points so the circles are very hard to see. drat.
i thought about tossing all the blocks after laying them out and not seeing the kaleidoscope... BUT i do love the colors, the mix of berry, lemon, pink and just a dash of orange is really summery and pretty. You could even call it yummy :-) And the circles have very nice centers...

so i sewed the top together and i will finish this quilt.Maybe i even can achieve the circle look a bit by quilting circles at the right places, we´ll see. I already thought about a person i might give this quilt to, so that´s a good sign, too.

The trick is to keep sewing.



Ich will ja nicht zu sehr rumjammern, aber das hab ich mir schon etwas anders vorgestellt..

Dies soll ein Kaleidoskop-Quilt sein - nur ist er das leider nicht. Es gibt nicht genügend Kontraste an den entscheidenden Stellen, also sieht man die typischen Kreise so gut wie gar nicht. Mist.
Ich hab überlegt, die ganzen Blöcke wegzuschmeissen, als ich nach dem Auslegen sah, dass das nix wird mit dem Kaleidoskop... ABER mir gefallen die Farben und die Stoffe sehr, diese Mischung aus Beerentönen, Zitronengelb, pink und einem kleinen Schuß orange ist so schön sommerlich und hübsch. Man kann es fast lecker nennen :-) Und meine Kreise haben wirklich sehr schöne Mittelteile...

Also hab ich alles zusammengenäht und ich werde diesen Quilt auch fertigstellen.
Vielleicht kann ich mit dem richtigen Quilten sogar noch ein bisschen einen Kreiseffekt erreichen, mal sehen. Und mir ist auch schon jemand eingefallen, der ich diesen Quilt schenken könnte, das ist auf jeden Fall mal ein gutes Zeichen.

Einfach immer weiternähen, das ist der Trick.
